Local rodeo heats up

District Four High School rodeo is in full swing, with cowboys and cowgirls finishing off two weekends of rodeos already. The high school rodeo will be in town this weekend, Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27, at the Power County Fairgrounds.

Representing Aberdeen at the rodeos are Lexie Lehman and Sadie Nugent. Representing American Falls at the rodeos are Rochelle Whitnah, Stetson Nelson, Hunter Morris, Tyler Scherer, Hailey Driscoll, Justin Wiscombe and Gus Kuttler.

The remaining schedule for the rodeos are as follows:

• Friday, April 26, 7 p.m., in American Falls.

• Saturday, April 27, 11 a.m., in American Falls.

• Friday, May 3, 7 p.m., in American Falls.

• Saturday, May 4, 11 a.m., in American Falls.

• Friday, May 10, 7 p.m., in Blackfoot.

• Saturday, May 11, 11 a.m., in Blackfoot.

• Friday, May 17, 7 p.m., in Blackfoot.

• Saturday, May 18, 11 a.m., in Blackfoot.

At the rodeo on Friday, April 5, in Pocatello, Driscoll took fourth in barrel racing with a time of 16.773, and third in pole bending with a time of 22.131. Lehman took fifth in the pole bending with a time of 22.848.

Whitnah took eighth in goat tying with a time of 13.993. Scherer and Kuttler took second in the team roping competition with a time of 17.678.

At the rodeo on Saturday, April 6, in Pocatello, Driscoll took fifth in barrel racing with a time of 16.661 and Lehman took seventh with a time of 16.925. Lehman took fifth in pole bending with a time of 22.07, and Whitnah took ninth with a time of 24.643.

Whitnah also took sixth in goat tying with a time of 16.98, and Nugent took eighth with a time of 19.83. Scherer and Kuttler took third in team roping with a time of 32.257.

The Press will publish results from the rodeo on Friday and Saturday, April 1p and 20, as official results become available.
