AHS golf teams take first place in Soda and Grace

In both of the matches they played in last week, both boys’ teams and the girls’ team took first place for Aberdeen High School.

The first match last week was on Wednesday, April 24, at Soda Springs. All three teams took first place against American Falls, Bear Lake, Marsh Valley, Preston and Soda Springs.

On the girls’ team, Sophia Duffin led the Lady Tigers with 94, April Beck shot 96, Hazel Pratt shot 105, Breanna Duffin shot 119, and Whitney Wahlen shot 131.

Boys’ varsity team was led by Jaxson Archibald with a 75. Kylan Feld shot 84, Houston Wahlen shot 89, Will Toevs shot 92 and Austin Anderson shot 92.

On the junior varsity team, Zane Bono shot 91, Kyran Palmer shot 92, Carter Leishman shot 97 and Tyson Kendall shot 99. They played in Grace on Wednesday.

The teams then traveled to Grace on Friday, April 26. All three teams again took first place against Malad, Soda Springs and Grace.

Beck led the girls’ team with 89, followed by Duffin with 91, Pratt with 97 and Wahlen with 116.

Boys’ varsity saw Archibald with 76, Feld with 84, Wahlen with 86 and Toevs with 89. The junior varsity team finished with Anderson at 85, Kendall at 85, Bono at 91 and Leishman at 93.

The team will play two matches this week, Wednesday, May 1, at Preston and Friday, May 3, at Bear Lake. Then they will travel to the district tournament at Preston Monday, May 6, and state play will be at Coeur d’Alene Sunday and Monday, May 12 and 13.
