Memorial rodeo set at P.C. Fairgrounds

The RD Kuttler – Roger Whitnah Open Memorial Rodeo will be held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 10 and 11, at the Power County Fairgrounds, with an additional local team roping event planned Monday, Aug. 5.

The local team roping event, open to any resident of Power County or anyone who graduated from American Falls or Rockland high schools, will be held Monday, Aug. 5, starting at 7:30 p.m. Team ropers may enter until Wednesday, July 31, by contacting Cindy Kuttler at 390-7627.

Rodeo events scheduled Aug. 10 and 11 are open to all contestants, with events to include bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, tie down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping and 12 and under junior barrel racing. There are no non-member or association fees. Saturday’s rodeo starts at 7 p.m. and Sunday’s rodeo starts at 2 p.m.

Rodeo entries open Tuesday, July 30, from 3 to 10 p.m. and may be made by calling 226-5400.

Admission to the events is $5 for adults and $3 for youth 12 and under.

A “Dance in the Dirt” after-party will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, featuring local band DC Power. Food and beer booths will be available.
