To the editor,
I am writing at this time to tell you about an experience my family had with the Power County Jail staff.
On Monday, July 29, our son was travelling through the county on the interstate. He was stopped and arrested and placed in jail. We had no idea about this and when he did not show up at his intended destination, his girlfriend called me. When more than 24 hours went by, we became very concerned. I called the Idaho State Police to see if they had any contact with him and they advised he was in Power County Jail.
I spoke with several members of the jail staff over the next two days before my son was released. They were friendly and cooperative and worked hard to get my messages to my son and allowed him to call me several times. They were courteous, polite, and always upbeat and informative. After he posted bail, one of the officers ran to catch him after he left because he had left about $130 behind. They even offered to drive him to where his vehicle was impounded or call the impound lot even though it was after hours.
I think you should be proud of the manner and method these officers did their job. They made a very difficult time tolerable.
