To the editor,
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank Ward Oil for all they have done for Aberdeen over the past 50 plus years. For as long as I can remember they have been contributing to our community, both as a family and a business. It is a landmark to our family, not only for good service and friendly people, but where else can you get such a cushy site to watch the Aberdeen parades?
I know that many of us have discussed this week how the Wards have always been willing to carry people through rough patches in their own businesses, and have helped others until they got back on their feet financially. They have extended credit and trusted that people would pay when they could. I know they have run their business with integrity and commitment to our community. This is our loss.
Thanks to Linda, Buck, Hoppy, Alfredo, Diana, Alex, Deven, Spencer, Tyson, Zak, Karl and Pam, and so many others who made this full service gas station so great! Talk about “Service with a Smile”! (No matter the weather!)
We will miss their business on Main Street and wish them luck in their future endeavors.
