To the editor,
Well, I’m back from Mackay and ready to get going again on the Posse playground project. We are still trying to raise money for the playground equipment and need your help to complete the project in 2014. We will be selling memorial bricks that will be placed around the playground to help pay for the project. Those interested, please contact city hall, Linda Cardona or myself to get more information. We want to have a special place for the Boot and Saddle Club members and wives and military members and their wives, which both will encircle the playground. The walkway to the playground will be for others who would like to buy a brick for someone they want to be remembered or for themselves.
We have the class of 1973 that has already bought a brick for their class. I challenge other classes that have graduated to do the same.
I want to thank those who have donated money to the city for this project; your thoughtfulness will be remembered. Let’s all work together and get this project completed next year. When I contacted the Coca Cola plant for help with the waffle supper he said that Aberdeen needed something good to happen, with the JR Simplot plant closing. I think so too, what about you?
I want to thank the auxiliary ladies for everything they do for the community. Your service to others is overwhelming and I want you to know that others do notice your efforts.
Bingo has started and concessions will be started on Wednesday, Oct. 16, with our weekly specials. Money earned by the auxiliary goes toward Girls State and other service projects. Come have some family fun and enjoy some good food, too.
We will be turning in the information for the calendars soon, hoping to have them ready to sell by the first of December. If you want your name added or need some corrections done please contact Linda Cardona at 221-0571, Marva Jean Mueller at 221-9678, or Mardyne Kisner at 397-4697 as soon as possible.
The Christmas Bazaar is scheduled for the Saturday following the Aberdeen Light Parade. So come and join us for a good time.
As you can see the auxiliary is busy and trying hard to make a difference in our community. We do need members, so please come and be a part of the Aberdeen American Legion Auxiliary. We would love to have you join.
Marva Jean Mueller
American Legion Auxiliary President
