The Aberdeen American Legion Auxiliary will hold its annual Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the American Legion Hall. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will have lots of things to buy for Christmas, like crafts, homemade items, and homemade food.
They invite everyone to come early and have lunch or come later in the day and have supper. They will have good food to purchase for the meal.
They invite everyone to come see what they have and support the local crafters.
Extra booths are still available for anyone who wants to earn some extra money. Contact Marva Jean Mueller at 221-9678, or Linda Cardona at 397-4746 or 221-0571 or any of the other auxiliary members.
The American Legion Auxiliary will have a box at the Christmas Bazaar for all the area children to drop off their letters to Santa. The auxiliary will mail them for the children.
Also as a community project they are going to gather up cards for the Holiday Mail For Heroes. They will gather all the cards on Monday, Dec. 9, and get them mailed to Maryland so they can send them overseas. The Aberdeen schools are participating and the auxiliary would like to send a huge mail bag from Aberdeen.
Just a card with a “Thank You” would be appreciated by all the soldiers at this time, according to the Legion Auxiliary and they just want to let them know Aberdeen is thinking and praying for them.
There will be a box at the post office to drop off cards, then the auxiliary will box them up and send them from all the community. People can mail a card themselves to Holiday Mail For Heroes, PO Box 5456, Capital Heights, MD 20791-5456.
They will also have a table at the bazaar with cards for people to sign for the Holiday Mail for Heroes and they will also have cards and paper for the kids to write their letters for Santa while their parents are looking around.
