Distinguished Young Woman program seeks contestants

Aberdeen’s Distinguished Young Woman (DYW) of 2015 is scheduled for April. All junior girls are eligible and encouraged to participate.

The DYW Tea will be held Monday, Feb. 10, in the high school commons. This will be the first gathering of the junior girls participating and information about the program will be given to each interested girl.

The theme this year is “Glee” and will have many of the songs that the Glee cast performs throughout the program.

“I was so nervous to take part in the program and almost decided not to. But the girls were so fun and the leaders were so great to work with. The main thing that I feel like I took away from the program was confidence and a belief in myself that I could do anything I set my mind to. DYW is a great program for building self esteem. I encourage everyone to participate and look forward to what you can learn about yourself,” said Aberdeen’s DYW 2014 Aspen Poulson.

This program is a scholarship program that will help pay for future expenses in the schooling of your choice.

Anyone interested in taking part should contact Krystle Vollmer at 240-8720 or Aspen Poulson at 844-0190.

All junior girls are invited to be a part of Aberdeen’s Distinguished Young Woman of 2015.
