This week, March 4 to 6, the City of Aberdeen will be benefitting from a community review coordinated by the Idaho Rural Partnership. Community development professionals from all over the state will come to listen to our opinions and give advice as to how we can improve our community. These professionals are referred to as the “visiting team.” Hopefully you participated in the survey you received in the mail a few weeks ago. The focus of the review will be in three areas: economic development, infrastructure, and downtown revitalization.
As part of the downtown revitalization committee I would like to invite you to a meeting to be held Wednesday, March 5, from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at City Hall. It will be an opportunity for all of us as business owners to come together and voice our concerns, discuss ideas and possibilities so that we might create a more appealing and vibrant community. Please plan to attend.
There will be two additional meetings this week that would be beneficial to attend at the Mennonite Fellowship Hall: Tuesday, March 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. – a community listening session and Thursday, March 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. – visiting team presentations and recommendations.
We encourage you to attend these meetings and share any concerns or ideas you might have that may benefit our town. If you have driven through American Falls recently, you have noticed the great improvements they have made to their community through their efforts of working together to create a more attractive main street. Our city council members have worked hard to bring the Idaho Rural Partnership professionals to our area to do this review. Let’s all be there to support their efforts and improve our great community.
