The American Falls, Aberdeen and Rockland High School Rodeo Club is gearing up for Idaho’s District Four rodeos, having already completed in the first rodeo on Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5. The second rodeo of the season will take place this weekend in Pocatello on Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19.
The rodeo will then come to American Falls for the weekends of April 25-26 and May 2-3. It will head up to Blackfoot on May 9-10 and May 16-17. The first rodeo was held in Pocatello.
In the first rodeo, Cassidy Swanson of American Falls grabbed the top spot in pole bending with a time of 23.809. Emmylou Nugent of Aberdeen came in second with a time of 24.425, and Lexie Lehman, also of Aberdeen, came in fourth with a time of 26.376.
Sadie Nugent of Aberdeen came in sixth with a time of 26.704, and Hailey Driscoll of American Falls came in tenth with a time of 27.386.
Stetson Nielson of American Falls and Caleb Bradshaw of Rockland came in third and fourth respectively in the steer wrestling competition. Nielsen had a time of 9.69 and Bradshaw had a time of 9.95.
Lehman picked up fifth place in the goat tying event with 11.11 and Sadie Nugent picked up sixth place with a time of 12.5. Emmylou Nugent took tenth with a time of 15.14.
Driscoll took second in the barrel racing with a time of 17.261 and Lehman took fourth with a time of 17.584. Emmylou Nugent took tenth with a time of 18.482.
