Comfortable weather helped pull in more golfers, making for an interesting amateur tournament on the American Falls Golf Course Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13.
The additional golfers didn’t faze Tyler Driscoll, who turned in rounds of 36-32-31 to win the championship flight of the Wayne Egan Memorial / Simplot Amateur. Golfers played three rounds, from the red, white and blue tees.
Dan Pickens picked up second place gross with a 101, followed by Alan Ward, third at 102.
It was all American Falls on the net side in the championship flight with Osvaldo Agado picking up first at 88, followed by Andrew Cortez second at 90 and Charlie Woodworth third at 91.
Greg Baker found his form in the first flight, shooting a 108 for first place gross. Stuart Pankratz won second with 111, followed by Warren Giesbrecht, third at 112.
Jack Brown and Todd Giesbrecht tied for low net honors in the first flight at 92.5. Third net went to Jimmy Torres won at 94.5.
In the third flight, Kevin Morgan stepped up to the winner’s table with a 121 gross score. Pete Cortez took second at 123, with Dale Fehringer in third place at 124.
Jeff Welch won low net in the flight with 92. He was followed in second by Will Ruga with 101.5. Jim Tiede was third with a 102.
