A tradition at the Eastern Idaho State Fair will be returning again for the 21st year. The Idaho State Armwrestling Championship will be held Saturday, Aug. 31. This championship includes competition for the entire family.
Registration begins at 1 p.m. and the excitement begins with the youth divisions at 3 p.m. on the free stage near the main gate.
Youth divisions include 6 and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and teen classes. There are adult classes as well as two divisions for those age 40 and older.
Awards will be presented to the top three in each division and participation awards given to the youth who aren’t in the top three.
“Idaho can be proud that they are host to one of the largest state championships in the nation and promote youth in the sport,” according to event organizer Elaine Blik. “The competition is open to anyone who walks up and wants to test their strength against others their same size.”
