AFHS volleyball falls in close game to Aberdeen

American Falls High School’s volleyball team started their season with a narrow loss to Aberdeen.

American Falls started strong early, winning the first game 25-19. But Aberdeen came back with a vengeance, winning the second game 25-22, and the third game as well, 26-24. American Falls was then able to win the fourth game and force a fifth game, with a 25-14 score. But Aberdeen pulled ahead in the final moments of the fifth game, winning 16-14.

The girls played well, said Coach Nicole Fehringer, forcing the fifth game and coming back from an eight point deficit at one point. The loss was disappointing, she said.

The AFHS volleyball team wasn’t the only team playing in Aberdeen this past week. Check the print editon to find out more on how the football team did.
