Track team has success at West Side meet

The American Falls High School track team traveled to Dayton, ID, in a meet against Aberdeen and West Side high schools. Fourteen participants made the trek.

Kodee Vining placed first in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. He also placed second in the long jump.

Lexi Coon placed fifth in discus and fourth in shot put. Dakota Hitesman placed fourth in the long jump and third in the triple jump.

Coulten Trumbull placed second in the triple jump. Stockton Woodworth placed third in the mile, and Kelby Marroquin placed fourth in the mile.

The American Falls boys’ 4×100 relay team ran 48 seconds, the only team to participate and therefore earned a first place finish.

The individual results for the boys’ team were as follows: in the 100 meter race, Kodee Vining ran 11.45 for first place, Alex Medel ran 12.68 for 21st place and Michael Saiz ran 13.00 for 27th place. Bridger Bammert ran 15.06 for 37th place.

Kodee Vining ran the 200 meter race in 23.90 for a first place tie. Coulten Trumbull ran it in 25.48 for ninth place, Alex Medel ran 26.09 for 11th place and Michael Saiz ran it in 26.50 for 13th place.

In the 400 meter race Stockton Woodworth ran 1:08 and Kelby Marroquin 1:12 for 15th and 16th place.

In the 1600 meters Stockton Woodworth ran 6:22 for third place and Kelby Marroquin ran 6:34 for fourth place.

In the triple jump, Coulten Trumbull jumped 37’ for second place and Dakota Hitesman jumped 36’ 6″ for third place.

In the discus Bridger Bammert threw 85’ for sixth place, and in the shot put, he threw 23’3″ for 12th place. Coulten Trumball threw 35’3.5″ for seventh place in the shot put.

In the long jump, Kodee Vining jumped 18’ to tie for second place. Dakota Hitesman jumped 17’10″ for fourth place, while Alex Medel jumped 15’10″ for ninth place, Jay Hamann jumped 14’11.5″ for 11th place, Stockton Woodworth jumped 12’11″ for 13th place and Kelby Marroquin jumped 12’ 1.5″ for 14th place.

Individual results for the girls’ team include Cassidy Hunt running 14.76 in the 100 meter race for 11th place, while Emilie Davis ran 17.30 for 23rd place and Saharra Sampson ran 17.36 for 24th place. In the 200 meters, Cassidy Hunt ran 31.27 for seventh place.

In the discus, Lexi Coon threw 56’3″ for sixth place and Kiara Evans threw 39’4″ for 13th place. In the shot put, Lexi Coon threw 22’10″ for fourth place and Kiara Evans threw 17’10″ for ninth place.

In the long jump, Cassidy Hunt jumped 10’10″ for tenth place and Emilie Davis jumped 9’9″ for 11th place.
