An Hillcrest third grade student inspects a rock from the moon during a special presentation hosted by Erika Kettl’s class. Kettl had to take special training form NASA to be a certified moon-rock handler. Each night the rocks are in town they must be locked in a combination safe. When the rocks are out for display Kettl must accompany the rocks everywhere. “I even have to take them to the bathroom with me,” said Kettl. Kettl’s students prepared several different lesson about the moon and served as teachers as other classes visited to view the rocks from space.
