Savanah Farr lead the Rockland High School girls’ track and field team to a tenth place finish at the state track meet on Friday, May 16. Farr took first in the triple jump with a 34’7.75″jump.
She took second in the 200 meter race with a time of 26.60 and second in the 400 meter race with 58.3. Farr could not beat Hannah Cain of Challis, who was slightly faster in both of those races.
Farr’s sister Mesa ran the 800 meters in 2:47.65 for 14th place. The sprint medley team ran 1:59.28 to take fifth place out of eight teams.
Mesa Farr placed ninth in the long jump with a 14’5.5″ jump.
On the boys’ team, Tyler Rupe took sixth place in the 200 meter race with a time of 24.01. Justin Robinson took 15th in the 1600 meter race with a time of 5:22.44 and Travis Robinson took 16th with 5:24.22. Travis Robinson took 12th in the 3200 meter race with a time of 11:08.78.
The 200 meter relay team took sixth with a time of 1:35.87, out of eight teams. Wayne Kirby threw 42’6″ in the shot put for eleventh place. Rex Permann took sixteenth in the triple jump with a distance of 35’2.5″.
