Cecil “Evan” Wride, 78, of Aberdeen, Idaho, peacefully, passed away at his home November 21, 2014 from Diabetes.
Evan was born on December 3, 1935, at his home, in Aberdeen, Idaho to Marion “Bush” Wride and Helen Taggart Wride. He was the second of eight children. Evan loved to learn. As he became older he always had a book with him. He knew he wanted to attend college, but realized that the only way he could achieve this goal was to enlist in the military and work toward the GI Bill. After graduating from AHS, at 17, he joined the US Navy. Evan loved his time in the Navy. He served two years in Japan and a year on the aircraft carrier the ‘USS Wasp’. Evan reached his goal and graduated from Idaho State College, in 1961, with a duel degree in Accounting and Economics.
During this college time he met and married Jeanne Larsen of Blackfoot Idaho, in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 17, 1959, they had 6 children; Michelle, Eric, Amy, Nikki, Paul and Stuart. Evan was a devoted, caring father and husband. He loved each little baby that came into the family. He enjoyed sitting in the rocking chair, in the middle of the night, rocking a little child. Evan’s biggest fear and concern was he could not take care of his family. Upon graduation from Idaho State College, he worked at the site as an accountant. He was later contacted by the IRS, Intelligence division and worked for many years, including serving on the director’s staff of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington DC.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many positions.
