POWER COUNTY COMMISSIONER

Synopsis of Minutes for March 23, 2015

Meeting convened at 9:04 am.

NOTICES/REPORTS:

Community Education Program was discussed. Commissioner Anderson reported on the Airport Board. Contract Lobbyist, Pat Sullivan, provided a Legislative Update to the Commissioners. Dan Blocksom and Tony Poinnelli of the Idaho Association of Counties provided a Legislative Update relative to county government to the Commissioners. Cross-Training of Extension Office personnel was discussed. The Commission set an update on the Economic Development on the Agenda for April 27, 2015. Wells Fargo presented a credit card awards program update to the Commission. American Disabilities Act compliance at the Health Department was discussed. Commissioner Lasley provided a security update and Commissioner Anderson updated the Commission on the Annex repairs.

MOTIONS:

The Agenda was amended.

A settlement was reached between the County and the previous Airport Manager.

Election results were canvassed.

Power County Health Department Quarterly Report was accepted.

Monthly Treasurer Report was accepted.

Airport Board was awarded 10 hours of grant applications services through Southeast Idaho Council of Government.

Kevin Ramsey was appointed to the Airport Board and Pete Williams was appointed to the Waterways Board.

An indigent claim was denied.

A beer and wine license was transferred from Beer License from Bill Beck to the City of American Falls Golf Course.

Additional repair costs for the Courthouse Annex were approved.

Certificate of Residency for Junior College Tuition I.C. §33-2110 were granted for two (2) residents.

Vacation payout and Cobra coverage was approved for an employee who resigned.

Commissioner meeting minutes for March 9, 2015 were approved.

ASSESSMENTS/CONCLUSIONS:

Airport Farm Lease award was transferred upon cancellation by the original bidder.

Transfer Station truck upgrades and repairs were clarified.

Next regular session for the board to meet is slated for April 13, 2015.

POWER COUNTY COMMISSIONER

Meeting convened at 5:47 pm.

NOTICES/REPORTS:

Elected Officials for the City of American Falls and Power County and attending staff members met at American Falls City Council Chambers.

Sheriff Jim Jeffries reported on the Radio Advisory Committee and jail inspection.

Sheriff Jim Jeffries and Chief Brandon Wilkinson reported on complications and procedures that arise when addressing concerns with mentally ill parties.

Clerk Sharee Sprague invited City personnel to computer software demonstrations at the County Commission Chambers on April 7, 2015 and reported on newly adopted changes to the Election laws and a change of polling location for Precinct 1.

American Falls City Council invited the County to utilize the facility as an Election Precinct.

ASSESSMENTS/CONCLUSIONS:

Mayor Marc Beitia requested information regarding E911 Services and Commissioner Minutes which Clerk Sprague provided on April 2, 2015.

Meeting adjourned at 6:47 pm.

Meeting convened at 10:05 am.

NOTICES/REPORTS:

Grant applications and the airport courtesy car were discussed.

MOTIONS:

The Agenda was amended.

Industrial Development Board appointments were approved and Vicki Meadows and Bob Cox were re-affirmed to serve on the Board.

Cancellation of taxes in the amount of $23.69 were approved.

An employee was placed on the Family Medical Leave Act.

ASSESSMENTS/CONCLUSIONS:

Approval of minutes were tabled.

An assessment for cost of ADA Compliant restrooms in the Doctor’s Office was directed.

A personnel ad was directed to be placed in The Power County Press.

Next regular session for the board to meet is slated for April 13, 2015.

Meeting adjourned at 12:18 pm.
