Shaylene Lee Reaves passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 from injuries due to a car accident.
Shaylene and her twin sister Kaylene were born on June 29, 1989 in Pocatello, ID, to Martin and Dianne Reaves. She was the eighth of nine children.
Shaylene grew up in Rockland, ID, and graduated from Rockland High School in 2007. After high school, she attended the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, UT. She was attending Idaho State University to become a preschool teacher. Shaylene was working at the Tater Tots Daycare center in American Falls. She was loved by her co-workers and especially by the children that she cared for.
Shaylene was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was devoted to the service that she gave in her various callings.
Shaylene is preceded in death by a sister Tressa, grandmother Viola Brown, grandfather Leo Reaves, and grandmother Conzetta Ziggler. She is survived by her parents Martin and Dianne Reaves, Rockland; siblings, Yvonne (Bill) Marsh, Florida; Doyle Reaves, Twin Falls; Romney Reaves, Orofino; Jeff (Michelle) Reaves, American Falls; Misty (Jesus) Munoz, Ketchum; Drew (Suzanne) Reaves, Kentucky; and twin sister Kaylene, Rockland. Grandfather Dale B. Brown and grandmother Connie Reaves, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family members.
There was a viewing at the Davis-Rose Mortuary on Tuesday, March 26, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Shaylene’s service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rockland, on Wednesday, March 27, at 12 p.m. There will also be a viewing before the service from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. before the funeral. Interment will be at the Rockland Valley View Cemetery.
