The Lady Tigers couldn’t overcome a sluggish start against a very good Ririe Bulldog team, falling 56-42 last Tuesday night, Jan. 19 in the Tiger Den.
Ririe built a 27-13 halftime lead as the Lady Tigers struggled to make shots and rebound the ball. Aberdeen came out of the locker room with a renewed energy cutting the 14 point Bulldog lead to five at the end of the third period. The Lady Tiger comeback fell short however as foul trouble and solid Ririe shooting from the foul line allowed the Bulldogs to withstand Aberdeen’s onslaught and rebuild their lead.
“We played hard in the first half but we were undisciplined and impatient. That is my fault” said Coach Wahlen. “We looked much better after halftime and really made a game out of it, but the hole we dug ourselves in the first half was just too deep to climb out of. I’m really proud of the heart the girls showed to fight back against a very solid team.”
Makenna Schritter led Aberdeen with 17 points on 8-16 shooting. Tasha Pocock added 11 points and Baylee Wahlen six points. Makenzie Rucker led the Tigers with eight rebounds…
