To the editor
Recently the Chamber of Commerce awarded me the Volunteer of the Year award for putting on the Music in the Park event for the past two summers, and so I feel the need to thank the chamber for their award along with thanking everyone who helped me in putting on Music in the Park.
Staci Wallace, my right hand gal, helped me with any and all things I asked as well as kept me on track. I couldn’t have been successful without her and her support. Also, The American Falls High School Drama/Speech and Debate team especially Kyle Nye, Kyle’s parents, Madeline Bowman, Dana Facer, Sydney Barron, Wyatt Morgan, Logan Lankford, Abby Rios, Julio Murillo and anyone else who helped that I’m forgetting.
Kyle and Madeline were there every Thursday night helping me set up, getting people lined out to run the food booth, etc. They were amazing! Also, some of the boys’ high school basketball team helped with the cotton candy/sno-cone shack, Cody Vining the king of the perfect cotton candy, Presten Puthum, Kress triplets, Coleton Adamson, Nathaniel Robbins, Parker Funk, James Ramsey and again anyone else I missed.
Even though these kids were helping so they received 50 percent of profits for their extra curricular events I couldn’t have done this without any of them. A big thanks of appreciation to Kirk and Robyn Adkins for use of the sno-cone trailer and cotton candy maker. They have the biggest hearts and are such community supporters they truly deserve an award.
So many people helped here and there when things were needed I can’t get everyone in this letter. This truly was a community event! Again, Thank you to all the members of the Chamber of Commerce for recognizing me with this wonderful award I do appreciate the thought. Thanks again to all the many people involved as well as all who attended the Music in the Park! Hope to see you all this summer starting June 2, Thursday night, from 6-8 p.m.!
Thanks for reading!
