The Aberdeen middle school will be performing Disney’s Aladdin Jr.
Performance are Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9, at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
Inside the Royal Palace gates in the faraway city of Agrabah, Princess Jasmine, played by Jennifer Wahlen, prepares to choose a husband. Against Jasmine’s wishes, her father the Sultan, played by Zane Goss, insists that she pick from among three visiting Princes by tomorrow. The Princes names are Prince Baba of Ganoush, played by Logan Palmer, Prince Dahdu Rahn Rhan, played by Luke Driscoll, and The Prince Formally Known As “The Artist”, played by Diego Rangel.
The Princes’ public introduction is interrupted by a fleeing bread thief. Wandering among the crowd, a poor street urchin, Aladdin, played by Angel Lemos, suddenly finds himself holding the stolen bread and pursued by royal guards. In the commotion, Jasmine adopts a disguise and seizes the opportunity to escape into the bustling marketplace, where she bumps into Aladdin.
As they flee the bustling crowd and pursuers, the two share their experience of feeling “trapped”, and they become attracted to one another. Aladdin brings Princess Jasmine to his chamber where Razoul, played by Jack Behrend, and his Guards, Mark Haney and Hector Carrillo, capture Aladdin. Princess Jasmine removes her cape revealing her crown. She demands they free Aladdin, but Razoul and the Guards only take orders from Jafar, played by Carson Wynn, and exit with Aladdin. …
