Power County Prosecutor Ryan Petersen is sitting comfortably after winning his reelection bid in the Republican Primary in May.
Petersen won handily after a contentious campaign between him and Power County Conflict Public Defender Abe Luca. Both ran in the Republican Primary. With no other contender for the general election in the fall, Petersen has already retained his seat.
During the campaign, Petersen said he had helped and would continue to help keep Power County’s children safe. Luca argued that he had a good relationship with Power County’s law enforcement. Ultimately, Power County voters chose to retain Petersen 628 to 301.
“I’m humbled that I won in the campaign,” Petersen said. “I am excited for what we are trying to do.” …
