Aberdeen School District #58 Board of Trustees were reorganized at their annual meeting held Wednesday, July 20. Present at the meeting were trustee members Herb Bohrer, Elaine Blik, Todd Lowder, Mike Shackelford and Braden Driscoll.
After, nominating and voting, Bohrer was retained as chairman of the board, Blik was retained as vice chairman, Driscoll was retained as treasurer, Lowder was retained as clerk and Shackelford was retained as Education Foundation representative.
Superintendent Jane Ward informed the trustees there was a portable floor used at the Idaho Center in Boise being auctioned. The auction ended Thursday, July 21 at 5 p.m. The current bid at the time was $8400. If the district won the bid, they would need to sand it, remove it from the portable pallets, lay it down in the practice gymnasium and resurface it. If they were to purchase a new gym floor it would cost between $100,000 and $110,000. She requested permission to bid on the floor and also asked for a price limit to bid up to. She felt she could get the floor for $10,000, unless someone at the last minute puts in bids to make it a higher price. …
