Power County Rural Fire District Chief Pete Williams declared a burn ban for all of Power County on Wednesday, July 27. The burn ban will last until Saturday, Oct. 1.
There will be no new burn permits issued and no present burn permits will be allowed, he said. There should be no open fires, no recreational fires, and no fires on beach area. The only fires allowed are fires for barbecuing, he said.
Anyone fires will be extinguished, and anyone starting a fire will be charged accordingly, he said.
