POWER COUNTY COMMISSIONER
Synopsis of Minutes for June 23, 2016

Meeting convened at 9:02 am.
NOTICES/REPORTS:
The Board heard budgetary requests or projections for fiscal year 2017 from the Transfer Station, Weed Department, Gerald Fehringer Youth Center, Great Rift Economic Development, American Falls Fire Department, Power County Snowmobile Board, Gem Medical Plan, the Clerk/Auditor, Elections Department, and Indigent Services. The Board discussed the ISU Community Education program.
MOTIONS:
Agenda was approved and a Memorandum of Understanding for Economic Development was executed.
ASSESSMENTS/CONCLUSIONS:
Next regular session for the board to meet is slated for June 27, 2016.

NOTICES/REPORTS:
The Board discussed or heard reports on Board of Equalization Appeals, adult probation services and contractor sales tax reporting, and the county vehicle mileage report. The Board heard budgetary requests or projections for fiscal year 2017 from the Historical Society, Emergency Services, and Ambulance District.
MOTIONS:
Agenda was approved.

Tax cancellations were approved in the amount of $7,427.90
Treasurer’s Statement of Cash and LGIP Monthly Statement from the State Treasurer was accepted.
An Indigent claims was approved and another claim was denied.
An agreement for credit card services through Access Idaho was approved. New lease on the postage machine was approved through Pitney Bowes, salary approvals were granted, and an application for certificate of residency for junior college tuition support was granted.
Commissioner meeting minutes for June 10, 13, and 14, 2016, were approved.
ASSESSMENTS/CONCLUSIONS:
Sick leave Bank operation and status was discussed and continued to July 25, 2016. Joint county Public defense services was discussed with Oneida County. Ambulance administration and financial report was continued to July 25, 2016, services to the Transfer Station by Southern Idaho Disposal was discussed and a proposal should be submitted for consideration, connectivity through Direct Communication was discussed and continued to June 30, 2016.
Next regular session for the board to meet is slated for July 11, 2016.

Meeting convened at 9:05 am.
NOTICES/REPORTS:
A tort claim filed on the grounds that a deed was improperly processed in the Assessor’s Office in 2012 was submitted to the Board, however, the parties were advised that the filing needed to be done with ICRMP. The Clerk was directed to electronically file the same with ICRMP. Kathleen Lewis updated the Board regarding grant possibilities to the Senior Center. An election update was provided and Computer Arts appeared and presented fiscal year 2017 budget needs for the county. The duplex siding job status was updated and a tax exemption appeal was withdrawn.

Tax exemption applications were granted. Alcohol licenses were approved. Due to the poor rate of return, the Board decided to cash out stocks as they are called.
Indigent claim was approved and another claim was denied.
ASSESSMENTS/CONCLUSIONS:
Transfer Stations services was discussed and Mr. Heward was directed develop a proposed fee schedule and report back to the Commission. A progress report for services at East Fork Campground was provided and the Board determined that direct follow-up and examination of the area should be conducted by the Commission. Connectivity through Direct Communications was discussed and continued to July 25, 2016.
