Young AFHS grad takes over gym ownership

American Falls native Miguel Sanchez opened his first business, Gladiator Gym on Idaho Street in American Falls, just months after graduating from Idaho State University with an associate’s degree in business administration.

He is just 21 years old, and graduated from American Falls High School in 2013.

He said a rural town like American Falls needed a gym.
“Sometimes it’s slow and there’s not much to do,” Sanchez said. “I wanted to do something for the community to do, something attractive and entertaining.”

The gym is in the former location of the Reflextions Gym, which closed after the attached salon moved up the street. The gym opened in mid-July, and boasts a full weight room and a boxing ring.

“I’m happy to expand the gym and make a better place for the community to come in and enjoy their exercise,” he said. …
