Lady Beavers look to take long route to state

The American Falls girls’ soccer team entered the district tournament playing Malad. They beat Malad 3-2, in the first game Thursday, Oct. 6. They then went on to play Marsh Valley Saturday, Oct. 8.

Unfortunately, American Falls lost that game, 3-0. According to head coach Mario Torres, it was a matter of a few plays that really decided the game.

“We gave up a goal in the last few minutes of the first half to go down 1-0. It bounced off our goalie and off a couple of defenders and kind of just trickled in,” said Torres.

After that goal, Marsh Valley came out in the second half and scored a quick goal in the first five to 10 minutes. That forced the Lady Beavers to put more pressure on the Eagles defense….
