Mayor Larry Barrett said he was not going to give a State of the City address at the city council meeting held Tuesday, Jan. 10, because the city was under snow, but he did give three things that he wants to continue to work on for the year 2017. They are the storm sewer drains, upgrading well number one and redoing more sewer lines. He said the storm sewer lines need help because they can’t keep up with the water that needs to go in them and he wants to fix that issue. Well number one just needs to be upgraded and he wants to see more sewer lines done this year.
He informed the city councilmen present, Karalee Krehbiel-Bonzon, Denise Wahlen, Brian Schneider, Mary Leisy, Alan Summers and Craig Wampler, that the city crew has been working very hard over the past few weeks. They have been trying to clean the city streets when the traffic is low so they have been working late at night and early in the mornings, 16 to 18 hours a day.
Council members opened up the July 20 minutes to add that the lease through Ireland Bank for the police car was approved. They discussed it then and approved it, but it wasn’t written in the minutes. Ireland Bank needed to have it in the minutes.
They also approved a resolution to accept a grant from Idaho Transportation Department for $12,277 and a city match of $16,853 to develop the apron at the city airport.
