Tiger wrestlers traveled to North Gem for tri-meet, held Tiger tournament

The Aberdeen Tiger wrestling team traveled to North Gem Tuesday, Jan. 17 for a tri-meet with North Gem and Bear Lake. It was North Gem’s senior night and it was the first dual held at North Gem High School in over forty years, according to coach Jordan Johns. The teams wrestled on a brand new wrestling mat that was purchased through a fundraiser held by the Cowboy’s wrestling program. For two years the wrestlers sacked and sold 100 lb. bags of potatoes in order to raise the money to buy the mat. It goes to show that hard work pays and wrestlers are no strangers to hard work. North Gem is a small school with a wrestling program that packs a big punch. They always have tough kids despite the size of their school. It was a fun meet and there was a lot of energy among all of the teams, Johns said..
