Joe Reams and Shannon Schultz with Construction Services, Inc. and Glenn Robinette with Hutchison Smith Architects discussed the status of the High School Construction Project at the regular school board meeting held Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 5:30 p.m. Present at the meeting were chairman Herb Bohrer, Todd Lowder, Mike Shackelford, Elaine Blik and Braden Driscoll.
Construction and demolition plans were reviewed and discussed with the board. Bid requests were sent out on Monday, Jan. 23 and bids received will be opened at the next board meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
Idaho Power will provide a rebate for $19,000 to the school district at the end of the construction project. Construction Services Inc. will assist the school district with e-rate funding.
The roof on the one story building of the remodel project will need to be replaced at an estimated cost of $50,000 that the district may need to pay for. It could be repaired for $10,000 but it will still need to be replaced in the future. The building demolition plans will be further reviewed after the construction bids are received.
