The Rockland High School girls’ basketball team won two games last week in spite of facing some tough opposition. The Lady Bulldogs beat Watersprings Christian 31-27 on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at home. They then went on the next day to beat Raft River 56-41, also at home.
Raft River’s defense was a hurdle that took time for Rockland to jump over.
“It was a slow game. Watersprings made us work. They were deliberate on their defense,” said Rockland Coach Vern Nelson.
Rockland was down the first half 18-12. But it was a strong 15-3 third quarter that gave the Bulldogs enough for the win.
