To the editor,
In the autumn of 1945, a naïve young girl from the American Falls area was visiting Salt Lake City and met a master sergeant stationed at Fort Douglas. Nine months later, in July 1946, she gave birth to a little boy. She and her younger sister were visiting an older sister at the Commander Apartments in Salt Lake, helping that older sister get ready to move to Florida as she was getting married. This young, unmarried mother, about 20 years old and 5’7”, had spent the summer working on a farm tractor, and in her sturdy, fit state had no idea she was expecting a baby. She placed that child for adoption, and he later became the father of ten children, including me. So much time has passed that we don’t know if she is still living, but we would love to hear any information or leads from the American Falls area. My email is email@example.com. Thank you!
Thanks for reading!
