Because Bingham County has increased their tipping fees at the garbage transfer station in Blackfoot, the city of Aberdeen will have to raise the garbage rates to everyone.
The increase will be more than five percent so a public hearing will need to be held in the future, councilman Alan Summers told the other Aberdeen council members at the regular meeting Tuesday, Jan. 9. Other council members present were Karalee Krehbiel-Bonzon, Denise Wahlen, Brian Schneider, Mary Leisy and Karl Vollmer. Along with the public hearing to increase the fees, the city will also need to open up the budget and readjust the budget because Bingham County didn’t increase the fees until after the city’s budget was already set. …
