Picture of the week: Monument men


The work is all finished on the monument of the pioneers of Sportsman’s Park. Pat McCullock and his son, Micah (l to r) stand at the monument after they finished the work on getting the picture permanently placed on the monument. There will be an official dedication ceremony at the end of October. The date and time will be announced in next week’s edition of The Aberdeen Times. This monument has been placed through the donations of many people and businesses. The monument did not cost any taxpayer money. The monument weighed 18,000 pounds before it was placed on the reinforced cement pad at Sportsman’s Park.
