The American Falls Downtown Horizons Planning Group, consisting of eight community members, met on Tuesday, June 23, at 7 p.m. to discuss numerous ideas and topics.
Among the discussion items were a workable legal curfew; Neighborhood Watch; getting information to every home; American Falls Day diversity, history, and rides; increasing interest in the Farmer’s Market; building a skateboard park, a tennis club, and an art gallery; increase usage at the museum and the beach at the American Falls Marina; conducting a monthly information night at the library; having canoes available at the marina; an annual carp feed; a community swimming pool; a program to ease grocery bills; and a program to join youth, the elderly, and adults.
Members of the committee are researching these topics, and input is needed from the young, old, and older. Everyone is invited to the meetings.
The meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month at city hall. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, July 14. For more information, call 226-2897.
