The Catholic communities of Aberdeen, American Falls and Pingree announce the arrival of their new priest, Father Carlos E. Camargo. Father Camargo replaces Fr. Justin Brady, who is now serving the community of Rupert at St. Nicholas Parish.

Fr. Camargo’s biography
Fr. Carlos E. Camargo P. is the new Administrator to the Presentation of the Lord Parish. He was born in Cali, Colombia. His parents are Carlos E. Camargo (deceased) and Lilia Camargo of Cali, Columbia. He has six sisters of which one is deceased.
He completed elementary school and high school in Cali and graduated as a public accountant from Universidad Santiago of Cali. He worked in Colombia for 28 years as a general accountant, and as an internal and external auditor for an American company. He achieved his master’s degree in Holy Scriptures, at Lumen Gentium Catholic University in Cali.
He grew up in the Catholic faith and served as a Eucharistic Minister in his Parish and worked with Lay Ministers in the Archdioceses of Cali.
He came to the United States in January of 2001, arriving in Boston, Mass., because he has a sister living there. In July of 2001 an opportunity opened up in the Diocese of Boise to become a candidate as a seminarian. He resided at the Treinen House in Boise while discerning his vocation. He was there for one year and took English for one year at Boise State University. Soon after that, he was sent to Mount Angel, were he did pre-theological studies. He moved to Wisconsin to Sacred Heart School of Theology and did his theological studies over there. He was ordained transitory Deacon on Feb. 4, 2006 and received his degree of Master in Divinity on May 5, 2006.
He was ordained a priest on Oct. 5, 2006 at Saint Joseph Cathedral in Boise, by Bishop Michael P. Driscoll. On May 25, 2006, he was appointed to his first assignment at Our Lady of the Valley Parish with Father Francisco Flores. After his Priesthood ordination he was named Parochial Vicar.
On June 1, 2007 he was moved to Idaho Falls Catholic Community, and served as Parochial Vicar with Father Joe McDonald until June 30, 2009.
“Now I am here to serve all of you and I will do so with all my heart,” he said.
His hobbies include swimming, reading good books, and listening to music. He also likes being among people and serving them as needed, especially those who are suffering or sick. He loves to celebrate Mass and all Sacraments, especially Baptism, Reconciliation, and anointing of the sick.

“Mi nombre es Rev. Carlos E. Camargo P. Y soy de Cali, Colombia. Soy el nuevo Administrador de la Parroquia “Presentación del Señor.” Mis padres son, Sr. Carlos E. Camargo (fallecido) y Sra. Lilia Camargo. Mi madre vive en Cali. Tengo 6 hermanas, una de ellas tambien fallecida.
Completé mis estudios de primaria, y secundaria en Cali. Me recibí como Contador Publi-co de la “Universidad Santiago” de Cali. Trabajé en Colombia por 28 años como Contador General y tambien como auditor interno y externo de una compania Americana. Logré mi master en Sagradas Escrituras, en la Universidad Catolica de Lumen Gentium, en Cali.
Creci en la Fé Católica. Fuí Ministro de Eucharístia en mi parróquia y también trabaje con los ministros laicos en la Archidiócesis de Cali.
Llegué a los Estados Unidos Americanos en Enero 2001. Llegue a Boston, donde vive una hermana. En Julio del mismo año se presento la oportunidad de poder inscribirme como candidato a seminarista en la Diócesis de Boise. Me hospede por un año en La Casa de Treinen para discernir mi vocación. Tome clases de Ingles en B.S.U. por un año. Despues de eso me fui a estudiar pre-teologia en Mount Angel. En el estado de Wisconsin estudie en Sacred Heart School of Theology. Fui ordenado Diácono el 4 de Febrero, 2006.
Finalmente, fui ordenado Sacerdote el 5 de Octubre, 2006 por el Obispo, Michael P. Driscoll en la Catedral de San Jose en Boise. Mi primer asignación fué como Vicario Parroquial en la Parroquia ‘Our Lady of the Valley’ con el Padre Francisco Flores.
El 1 de Junio, 2007 servi como Vicario Parroquial en la Comunidad Catolica de Idaho Falls, con el Padre Joe McDonald. Desde del 1 de Julio, 2009, estoy aqui en Aberdeen, American Falls, y Pingree con ustedes. Deseo servirles con todo mi corazon.
Mis pasatiempos son los siguientes: Me gusta leér libros buenos, escuchar música y nadar. Me gusta estar reunido con la gente, especialmente con los enfermos y con los que sufren. Amo celebrar la Santa Misa y todos los Sacramentos, especialmente Bautismo, Reconciliación y Unción de Enfermos.
