Funeral Notice
Margaret Louise Blenz Nelson of Rockland passed away Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at Harms Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rockland Ward. The visitation will be Friday, Feb. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Davis-Rose Mortuary in American Falls and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. |
Willmer J. Friesen 91, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011 at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton, KS. He was born March 27, 1919 in DuBois, ID, to John and Katie (Ensz) Friesen. On March 7, 1975 he married Laura Tieszen in Billing, MT.
Willmer was retired from potato farming in Idaho. He held memberships at the First Mennonite Churches in Aberdeen, ID, and Newton, KS. He was also a member of the Gideon’s International.
Willmer had a love singing and his family was very important to him. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his loving family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife Laura, son Dale and his wife Connie of Lawrence, KS, daughter Margie Chartrand of Omaha, NE, two sisters, Margaret Tieszen of Caldwell, ID, and Ruby Friesen of Mt. Angel OR, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Ellen Wedel Friesen; four brothers Elmer, Waldo, Edwin, and Orlando Friesen; and two sisters, Verna Huse and Elma Linscheid.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15, at First Mennonite Church in Newton, KS, with Pastor Anita Kehr presiding. Interment was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, KS. Visitation was from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Gayle Lynnette Leisy, age 51, went quietly to be with Jesus on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, due to complications of a long-term illness.
She is survived by her mom, Deaun Olzon Leisy, of Pocatello, ID; her three sisters, Beverley (Gary) Hartman, Mayverine (David) Shelton, and Marilyn (Kenneth) Horsch; one brother, Blaine (Sherry) Leisy; and her faithful caregivers of 36 years, Lonnie and Waneeta Wages, who live in Homedale, ID.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Eugene Leisy, who passed away in 1996.
Services and burial were held Friday, Jan. 28, under the direction of the Zeyer Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be sent in her name to her home church, Wesleyan Holiness Church, 1305 W. Orchard, Nampa, ID 83651 to be used for Gayle’s foster sister’s cancer fund. |
