On January 3, 2015, James Byron Hansen, 78, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family in Elko, NV.
James was born on May 5, 1936, in Aberdeen, ID, to William Taft and Rose Martha (Alvord) Hansen of Aberdeen. He married Sharon Mae Wallin on Aug. 3, 1968, in Pocatello, ID. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on Sept. 15, 1979. They resided in Springfield, ID, where he was a dairy farmer.
He is survived by five children: Joelynn (William) Tanner, of Elko, NV; Jennifer (George) Velasquez, of Elko, NV; James (Jennifer) Hansen, of Elko, NV; Jaron (Emily) Hansen, of Burley, ID; Julia (Eric) Terry, of Winnemucca, NV; and by twenty grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his wife, Sharon, his son, Jeffery Michael, a grandson, James Marvin Hansen Jr., baby girl Tanner, his parents and his brothers, Bill Hansen and Tom Hansen.
In remembrance there will be a funeral service held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Lakeview LDS Church, 2120 U.S. Hwy. 39, Springfield, ID. Family will greet friends for a viewing held at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, ID, from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, 2014 and again for one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
