Celia Klassen, wife of William Klassen was born and raised in London, England. She first came to Aberdeen in 2006 and “was hooked”. She married William in 2010 and they reside in Aberdeen with their four children.
London is a world-famous city with a long history, covered by famous historians from every angle, according to Celia. For her, being a city girl, hearing pioneer stories from “only 100 years ago” was fascinating for her because compared to London, that is relatively recent and so different from London life.
She started asking about Aberdeen and became confused that, despite the history being so recent, people didn’t seem to know much about it. She knew it used to be a desert and wondered “why?”, “when?” and “how”. …
