Elaine Rast Havlicak was born to Ed and Emma Rast on June 3, 1932. She went home to Jesus on Dec. 31, 2022.
Elaine and Bob were married 54 years and enjoyed many years of travel, camping, and fishing with family as well as on their own.
Elaine accepted Jesus as her only Lord and Savior and couldn’t wait to go to Heaven. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
They had three children: Vince (Brenda Phythian) Havlicak, Debbie (Jim) Walmsley, and Sandy (Ed) Lee; six grandchildren, Shane, Eric, Jason, Julie (Brian), Jamie (Dan), and Stuart; eight great-grandchildren, Jareth (Kabrie), CeElse, Rob, Emma, Trevor, Rachel, Bianca, and Iron.
Elaine was preceded in death by her son, Vince; brother, Ervin; sisters, Emma Jean and Ella; and her son-in-law, Ed.
Vince’s last gift to his mom was the urn that he made for her.
Elaine’s body was accepted for anatomical donation at Idaho State University, which is what she always wanted just as her husband Bob had been.
Memorial service was held at Willow Bay Baptist Church in American Falls on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023 at 11 a.m.
A special thanks to Kathy Hegstrom at Power County Skilled Nursing Home and her amazing staff of nurses who all gave Elaine very special care with love and compassion. Elaine enjoyed serving for years there as a Pink Lady and she also helped tie quilts at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
