Donna Maureen England passed away quietly from complications of Congestive Heart Failure on Sunday evening, March 12, 2023, at Monte Vista Hills Health Care Center in Pocatello, ID.
Maureen was born in Aberdeen, ID, Dec. 31, 1932. She was the first of two children of Charles Taggart Bowman and Mary Audrey (Walker) Bowman.
She graduated from American Falls High School in 1951. She was her Junior Class Secretary-Treasurer and a member of the Concert Band where she played the clarinet. She also participated in the Home Economics Club and Pep Club.
She and Gerald England were married July 19, 1951. Gerald was later drafted into the Army, then was volunteered for the Marines. After his military service they lived in American Falls and dad finished his Accounting Degree from Idaho State College.
She was the Classic Stay-At-Home mom for most of her younger years. She was a Room Mother numerous times for her three sons. A Cub Scout Den Mother. Chauffeur to her sons and friends to grade school, parks, swimming, little league-basketball and baseball. And anywhere we or she needed to go. She also took a post high school class in bookkeeping to assist dad in some of his work. She also worked at the Cardinal Market in the Deli/Bakery and as a food worker at the school district.
She and Gerald were also involved in bowling, golf and for a short time snow skiing. Mom also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and ceramics. She also loved to travel. She and friends from American Falls toured Europe. She visited Washington DC, and traveled with family to New York City, Long Island (Port Jefferson) and San Francisco.
She is survived by her brother, Charles Wynward Bowman; her three sons, David England (Kathy Moulton), Scott England (Cindy Coleman) and Kyle England (Cindy Sidwell). She was the grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 21.
She was preceded in death by her mother Audrey Wetzel, husband Gerald England, father Charles Bowman, brother Gard Bowman and grandson Chad England.
Services will be provided by Davis-Rose Mortuary, American Falls, Idaho. Maureen’s services will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 650 Pocatello Avenue, American Falls. A viewing will be on Friday 3/24/23 at 6-8 PM. Another viewing will be on Saturday 3/25/23 from 9-9:45 AM with the funeral starting at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at the Falls View Cemetery in American Falls, Idaho.
We would also like to thank the medical, nursing and ancillary staff at Power County Hospital in American Falls; as well as Grace Assisted Living, Monte Vista Hills Health Care Center and Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID, for caring for our mother.
