Kenneth Schlecht

Kenneth Leon (Mason) Schlecht, 61, passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2015. He was born July 23, 1954 in Twin Falls to Kenneth Gene Mason and Betty Carol Self.

They divorced. She remarried Ted B. Schlecht, who adopted Ken at age four and took the Schlecht name. Ken went to American Falls schools for 12 years and graduated in 1972, then on to ISU School of Technology where he trained to be a drafter/designer.

Ken worked for several electrical engineering companies: Alpha, Lehigh, Power Engineers, Wells Rural Electric, Caribou, and the last 25 years he worked for Engineering Support Services (now ESS Inc.).

Ken is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister Carroyle Seal of Filer and her family, and Ted Schlecht of Shoshone and his family.

Ken’s philosophy on life: “Never put off till tomorrow those things that can wait till next Monday, after all next Monday might not get here and think of all the effort that you would have wasted”.

A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Our Savior Lutheran Church (ELCA), 464 Carriage Lane in Twin Falls, located at the corner of Filer Ave. and Carriage Lane N.
