Penny La Ree Buffi

Penny La Ree (Hensley) Buffi was born Dec. 1, 1956 to Raymond “Buck” Delbert Hensley and Irma Marie (Smith) Hensley. She was the tenth child born in a family of 16 children. She was raised in Pocatello, ID, and attended Tyhee Elementary, Hawthorne Elementary, Bonneville, Hawthorne Junior High and finally Pocatello High School. Later in life she received her high school diploma from Harcourt High School, which brought great pride to her; a goal she had wanted to complete for a long time.

Penny La Ree Hensley married Zane Lee Buffi on Aug. 7, 1975 at the Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. The next four years of their marriage, they lived in Oxnord, CA, while Zane was serving in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1979. During this time, Joshua Blu Buffi was born on Oct. 29, 1977, the first of three children. After discharge from the Navy, Penny and Zane moved to Pocatello, where Penny continued a career with AMI/ON Semiconductor for a span of 35 years. On April 22, 1980, Penny and Zane had their daughter, Pepper Charmaine (Buffi) Daw and then on June 5, 1984 their last sun, Bodie Lee Buffi was born.

Penny loved being outdoors which consisted mostly of camping and fishing. She enjoyed being around all her family and friends and playing cards with her sisters. Her fondest memories of time spent, was with her three grandchildren, Ethen Thomas Daw, Rainee Rose Daw and Chance Terry Dickamore.

She is survived by: her husband, Zane Buffi; children, Joshua Blu (Shelbi) Buffi, Pepper Charmaine (Michael) Daw, Bodie Lee Buffi; and her three grandchildren who all reside in Pocatello.

Her suriving siblings include; Bob (Tammy) Hensley, Lois Weerheim, Deb (Gloria) Hensley, Nettie (Al) Danis, Diana (Tom) Davie, Sue (Dave) Rosa, Dusty Hensley, Peggy (Eddie) Huerta, Sheila (Dan) Stapleton, Buck Hensley, Jodie (Tom) Chlarson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Irma Hensley, and her siblings; Ron Hensley, Tom Hensley, Yank Hensley and Robin Kay Hensley.

Graveside services for Penny will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, at the Aberdeen Cemetery in Aberdeen. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W.
