Franci Taki

Franci Taki passed away at home from chronic health problems on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013. She passed away very peacefully and was surrounded by her loving children.

Franci was born on Sept. 6, 1931 in Anaconda, MT. As a child she lived in Sheridan, WY, until her family moved to Pocatello, ID. There she met and married Terry, who was a wonderful husband and father. Franci and Terry lived in American Falls, ID, for many years and raised their children there. They moved to Winnemucca, NV, where Terry expanded his farming operation. Franci also joined Terry in Saudi Arabia and Turkey while he was farming in those countries.

After her children were grown, Franci worked as a sales clerk. During her work at Mimi’s, Raley’s, the Emporium and Wal-Mart, Franci made strong friendships with many of her customers and the people she worked with. Franci enjoyed bowling, fishing, skiing, dancing, reading, going to Music at the Martin and lunch with her friends at the Senior Center. She loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports and any other activity that involved family. Most recently Franci was able to attend her granddaughter’s wedding. She had a wonderful time visiting with four generations of family.

Franci is preceded in death by her husband, Terry, her parents, her three brothers, her sister and a grandson.

Franci is survived by her daughters, Teri Lyn Braun (Richard), Debi Alder, Franci Ann Pava (Gary), Heidi Hoke, and her son Doug Taki (Tracy): eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one sister.

A memorial service was held at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Winnemucca on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m., with interment at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Senior Center in Winnemucca.
