Berdean Dahlke

Our loving wife, mother, sister and friend left this life peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013. She had been fighting Systemic Lupus for the past 14 years. Berdean was known for her love and service. She had a beautiful voice and shared her talents of singing and playing the piano with others.

Before becoming sick, she worked at William Thomas Middle School and taught piano. Berdean married her high school sweet heart Kirk Lewis Dahlke. Together they raised six children: Sonya (Roy) Hawley, Daren Dahlke, Tammy (Arden) Trent, Jeff (Trina) Dahlke, DeVon (Keriann) Dahlke, and Courtney (Ben) Peterson. They have 19 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Helen DiViesti (Downey, ID), Idona (Les) Burnam (Boise, ID), Terry (Stacey) Nelson (Boise, ID), Vance (Julie) Nelson (Caldwell, ID) and LaRee (Larry) Nielsen (Tremonton, UT). Berdean loved her family. The highlight of her life was being surrounded by her grandchildren.

One of Berdean’s greatest joys was her involvement in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings. She demonstrated loving service to others daily.

Berdean cheerfully dealt with her sickness and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by Ila May Byington (mother), Don Lester Henderson (father), and Nancy Parker (sister).

Funeral arrangements were under the care of Davis-Rose Mortuary. A viewing was held Thursday, Dec. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 650 Pocatello Ave, American Falls. The funeral was held on Friday, Dec 20, at 11 a.m. at the Church with a viewing prior to service from 9:45 to 10:45. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.davisrosemortuary.com.
