Adrian LaVerne Wood II

Adrian LaVerne Wood’s life was cut short tragically on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, when he died in a car accident south of Wahoo, NE. Adrian was born in LaJara, CO. He spent his childhood in Salt Lake City, UT, and his teen years in Wahoo, NE. He was married in 1999 and was a loving father to his 2 children. Adrian and his family lived in Fremont, NE, until he moved to Garner, IA, in 2011. After spending a brief time in American Falls, ID, Adrian returned to Nebraska in 2013.

Adrian’s life was filled with hardship and trials, but through it all our son filled our lives with joy. He was a devoted brother to Josiah, and always had a loving heart, a contagious laugh, and was quick to lend a hand to those in need. Adrian’s children were deeply important to him, and were a motivating force behind the recent changes in his life. This past year, Jesus poured out His Grace upon Adrian, who came to know the sweet peace of his Savior’s redeeming Love.

Adrian was living in Lincoln, NE at the time of his death, and is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Michael (14); daughter, Brenda (9); all of Omaha; father, Stacy and step-mother Kate Wood of Salt Lake City, UT; mother, Susan and step-father Rich Westland of American Falls, ID; brother, Josiah Wood of Garner, IA; step-sister, Katie Straughbinger of St. Louis, MO; step-brother, Jacob Westland of Kansas City, MO; paternal grandma, Jacqueline Stuelke of Hot Springs, AR; grandpa, Kenneth Worley of St. Louis, MO; mother-in-law, Tina Kreizel; brother-in-law, John Fisher; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends and anyone who shared his love.

The memorial visitation was on 6-8pm Tuesday, Jan. 7, at John A. Gentleman Mortuary, 72nd St. Chapel, Omaha, NE. The memorial service is at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Thanksgiving! Lutheran Church, 3702 370th Plaza, Bellevue.
