Randy Laine Bedwell

Randall Laine Bedwell returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 due to natural causes. He was in Mexico City, Mexico on a business trip.

Randy was born on July 12, 1960 on the Harrison Flats in Northern Idaho. He later served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1980-1982, in the San Bernadino California Mission. This was an impressionable time for him to strengthen his love and service for all people.

Upon the completion of his faithful mission, he enrolled in North Idaho College. He studied to become an Electronic Technician. During this stage of his life, he was blessed to meet and marry his wife and eternal companion, Bon Jayne Critchfield. They were married and sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 16, 1984. In their thirty years of marriage they were blessed with seven children and five grandchildren.

After graduation he accepted a position with the FBI in Pocatello as an Electronic Technician. During this time, they have lived and raised their family in the Grandview town site, just outside of Aberdeen. He was employed by the FBI for 29 years. His occupation took him to numerous countries throughout the world.

Randy was a man of many interests. Of absolute importance was his family and his religious faith. Randy’s interests included: sports, outdoors, service, scouting, cooking and gardening.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Verla (Alhstrom) Bedwell, and brothers Dennis and Dale Bedwell.

He is survived by his wife Bon Bedwell, and children: Jayleane (Wade) Lewis, Dennis (Rachelle), Lainel (Adam) Ortiz, Freeman, Dayler (Mattie Jones), Ross and Jayden. In addition, his siblings: Roberta (Paul) Biondi, Johnnie (Cari), Lucky, Barbara and his five grandchildren.

Funeral services are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot. Services are tentatively planned for Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Lakeview LDS Chapel in Springfield, Idaho. Viewings will be held Thursday night 6 – 8 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home and Friday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Lakeview LDS Chapel.

The family has asked that flowers not be sent for the funeral. Randy would have preferred contributions be sent to the Primary Children’s Hospital, the LDS Temple Construction Fund, LDS General Missionary Fund or other appropriate charities.

Randy will be missed and loved by family, friends, co-workers, and those that knew him. We miss and love you very much – till we meet again.
