Colleen P. Hadfield

Colleen P. Hadfield died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 in Rexburg, Idaho at the age of 87.

Colleen was born on Sept. 14, 1927 in Lewiston, UT to her parents Clifford Leroy “Ben” Poulsen and Elnora “Nora” Hauser Poulsen. After graduating from North Cache High School in 1945 and working a year for the telephone company she married D.C. “Bud” Hadfield on July 21, 1946. The family moved from Preston, Idaho to American Falls, Idaho in 1956.

After a number of moves related to Bud’s work for the Soil Conservation Service, Colleen finished her career in Idaho Falls working in medical records. While in Idaho Falls she assisted in the opening of the Idaho Falls Surgery Center where she was employed until retirement. She was the secretary and president of the Idaho Medical Record Association and president of the National Medical Record Association.

Colleen was a loving mother, wife, sister and friend who enjoyed to travel with her family. Later in life she kept her family on their toes with her jokes and storytelling. Colleen will be missed, but her family is thankful for her peaceful passing and the memories they cherish.

Colleen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Lon and Phyllis Hadfield, her daughter Rawna “Sunny” Lohse, Dale Michaelson, and brothers Scott and Stan Poulsen. She is also survived by six grandchildren Lance Hadfield, Todd, Paul and Jessica Hadfield, Chris and Cody Davidson, in addition to six great-grandchildren Nyah and Misha Hadfield, Taia and Tali Hadfield, and Sebastian and Jesse Davidson. She is preceded in death by her husband Bud, sons Lance Glen and Darrell Wayne Hadfield, sister Dawna Hobbs and brother Clifford Poulsen.

Colleen’s life will be celebrated at a future date by her family and friends, TBD. Donations may be made in Colleen’s name to Rexburg Nursing and Rehab where she considered herself to be at home.
