Logan Willie Barnard

We, the family of Logan Willie Barnard, are sad to inform of his passing on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at the Cristoffersen Veterans Home in SLC, Utah. Dad, our Grandpa B, is now reunited with his “Honey B”, Carol Whittier Barnard; his son Brett Logan, and parents Ezra and Elsie Barnard.

Logan was born in American Falls, Idaho on Feb. 7, 1929. He is survived by his children Shauna (Rick Beard), Valerie (Brad Wride), Tamalyn (Travis Lively), Brett’s wife (Morena), Corey (Gina); 20 grand children, 22 great-grand children and brother, Charles Barnard.

He received his BA and MA from Brigham Young University and PhD in Speech Pathology at University of Utah, and spent most of his professional life as an Oral Myologist at Loma Linda University in California.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a missionary in the New Zealand Mission, 1949-1951 and in the India Bangalore Mission, 1996-1997, as a Bishop, as a High Councilor, as a temple worker and in numerous other callings.

Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at the Congregational Church (due to another service at the Rockland LDS building), at the corner of E. Paiute and S. Pine, Rockland, Idaho. The viewing will be from 9-9:45 a.m. with funeral services at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the Valley View Cemetery, Rockland, Idaho. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the LDS missionary fund.
